  • Robert Boutin – President

    Robert has been in the food industry for over 35 years, holding various positions with the Illinois Institute of Technology, Sunmark, Wm. Wrigley, Jr. Co. and Wilton Enterprises. Robert is also the President of Knechtel, Inc. and is considered an expert in food formulation and production, with heavy emphasis on confectionery products.

    Besides being the inventor/co-inventor of eight patents, Robert has presented lectures and papers for the AACT candy course, University of Wisconsin NCA confectionery school, US Dairy Council, among many other food industry conferences across the world. He has authored/co-authored assorted papers in the fields of food science, candy formulation, food research, aerospace and health-related aspects of food and nutrition.

    Robert received a BS in Chemistry and BA in Mathematics from Roosevelt University. He has been member of the Institute of Food Technologists, American Association of Candy Technologists, National Candy Association, Candy Manufacturers Association along with holding an advisory position on the NCA Board several years ago.

Robert Boutin was recently showcased on Crain's Chicago Business.
